Alleghany County Parks and Recreation along with Alleghany Outdoors is excited to announce our kickoff to summer with our Second annual Alleghany County River and Trail Day 2026.

This event will be held at Intervale Park and Alleghany Outdoors located at 1903 Dressler Drive Covington VA 24426.
This event is set to be a family fun day on the river and trail to enjoy all that Intervale park and Alleghany Outdoors has to offer.

There will also be a waterslide, and rock wall provided!  

The Kiwanis Club of the Jackson River will be onsite for there Annual Duck Race! This event is free to watch along the river bank, but if you want to purchase a duck for a chance to win some amazing Prizes those tickets will be available for purchase at River and Trail Day! The Clifton Forge Auxiliary will be providing all of your lunch needs, and Sweetz and Swigs will bring the dessert and drinks to the next level! 

The best part of it all will be our on-site FREE lazy river tubing! This will give kids the opportunity to go from playing on the grounds, to fun in the water!

This event will run from 11:00 A.M-4:00 P.M.
